Outreach

Public outreach is critical to the success of Continental Congress 2009.

The WTP team from Colorado this past weekend again demonstrated their creativity and commitment to our cause by representing the We The People Congress at a local fair. For their effort, we hereby recognize them for their "Outreach Idea of the Week."

Over the July 4th weekend, several WTP supporters set up an information booth at the 60th Annual Cherry Days parade and festival in Paonia, Colorado.  Dressed in patriot garb and prepared with tables full of CC2009 information, they talked with hundreds of people during the festival attracting great interest in the Continental Congress 2009 initiative.

They found the festival on the www.FestivalNet.com website which lists literally thousands of upcoming festivals in all the states from now through the fall.

The supporters engaged conversation with the public by distributing printed copies of CC2009 flyers and the WTP Petitions for Redress. They even brought their own printer so they could print more if needed.

The group also collected numerous emails to add to the WTP e-mail list. Colorado state coordinator Dave Justice reported that he was extremely pleased with the exposure and interest in the Continental Congress.

Credit where credit is due: Thank you Colorado supporters Gary Coats, (Delta County Coordinator) and Betty Oglesby, (Montrose County Coordinator). Many thanks as well to Dave Justice who has, along with many others, helped build a significant organizational presence for WTP across his state.

We urge everyone to get involved and step up to represent WTP Congress at festivals in your local area between now and the start of CC2009.

Get a costume.  Get a booth. Contact your CC2009 Team Members. Even if it takes a little time and few dollars, we need to give Continental Congress all the exposure we can.  Setting up a booth at every major regional festival and fair between now and CC2009 is a darn good start.
